Edge Gallery

OLD CITY

edge gallery was conceived and created by Ron Crider based on his former galleries in California and North Carolina. The decision to open in Philadelphia’s Old City stems from the amazing creative energy Ron feels in Philadelphia and the dynamism of the neighborhood.

The gallery focuses on emerging and mid-career artists who work in a non-objective vernacular in art. The expressions are created in painting, works on paper, photography, and sculpture. The gallery’s stable of artists includes 20+ artists from across the United States and Canada. Although the gallery’s main goal is to showcase the world of abstraction in art, there may be a surprise from time to time with exhibitions of different artistic points of view. The gallery will offer a variety of exhibition formats from solo to thematic and group artist shows.

As an avid art collector, edge gallery’s owner, Ron, cultivated a keen eye for abstraction and made the decision to pursue the creation of his own gallery after working in the world of fashion design/retail for more than 20 years. Art is truly his passion and he carefully selects each artist and work of art to embody that feeling in the gallery. In addition to the gallery, Ron is on the faculty of The Art Institute of Philadelphia where he teaches courses in fashion marketing and merchandising. “Fashion and art are all about emotion” says Ron, who loves having the opportunity to share the richness of abstract artistic expressions and to watch art speak to people’s hearts. His ultimate goal is for people to want to wake up each day with a work of art because then he knows that it really touched the soul.
