SOUTH PHILADELPHIA
Mission Statement:
The Da Vinci Art Alliance was founded in 1931 to serve the
needs of fine artists and artisans in the Delaware Valley Region. The
mission of the non-profit 501(c)(3) organization headquartered
in South Philadelphia is to support its 115 members and further
community based arts, cultural, and educational exchange. We
are largely self-supporting through our membership dues, gallery
rentals, and grants. The majority of our events are offered
to the public free of charge.
The Da Vinci Art Alliance hosts monthly visual art exhibitions
in a variety of media and themes. Aside from its annual all-media
members' exhibition that has been continuous since the group's
inception, the alliance sponsors many art related events throughout
the year, including an open juried exhibition, art workshops, art
history lectures, and Fringe Festival performances. Da Vinci
Art Alliance members' exhibitions have traveled to other regional
venues, such as the Gallery at St. Asaph's in Bala Cynwyd, the
Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts in Millville, NJ, and
the Susquehanna Art Museum in Harrisburg. Other solo and
group exhibitions and off-site collaborations with non-profit organizations
(among them Bartram's Garden and Lantern Theater Company) are held
throughout the year.
A volunteer Board of Directors and Officers, who are selected from
the membership, leads the organization. We are for and about
the arts and artists, and invite collectors, supporters, patrons,
and everyone with an interest in our mission to join us.
